By 2050, over 60% of the world’s population will live in cities. BMW faces this radical shift – but not just with the i3 and i8. It’s the C evolution which is BMW’s most consequent vehicle for urban mobility.
Because changing people's minds on electric vehicles is tough, we've let them make their own experiences and share them online in real time - with the Social Testride: 5 major European cities, 5 C evolutions and 25 riders, chosen from the global motorcycle community.
Within days, a huge number of riders applied online for a spot in the Social Testride. But only 25 were lucky enough to put the C evolution to the test and to re-discover their city with the power of electricity.
Now the Social Testride took off from the web to the streets of Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona, Milan and Munich. And wherever the electrifying journeys led the test riders: They captured all of their experiences and shared them online – unembellished and in real-time.
In less than 12 weeks, we gained massive momentum for our online ad campaign, on Facebook, Youtube and on BMW Motorrad’s Instagram account. And finally: The first production flight of the C evolution was sold out.
